Understanding the breed
As a responsible breeder I feel it is highly important for you as a future pug
owner to learn about pugs as a breed and a pet before making the commitment
to adopt this wonderful breed. Here are some basic facts for you to understand:

Your pug will be a 15 year commitment although I've known some to
live to be 18 years old. This is all dependent on the life-style and diet you
choose for your pug. Are you ready for this commitment?

Pugs come in black and various shades of fawn.

An adult pug should be square proportioned and weigh from 14 to 18 lbs
average.

Pugs are true companion dogs, they live to love and be loved; they require
attention and should never be left alone for extended periods of time.

Pugs are smart and love to play, dress up and go for walks. Their walks should
be kept short.

Pugs love to eat, but they can eat too much, watch the amount of food given to
them to prevent a fat pug!

Almost all dogs shed. Pugs shed 7 days a week 365 days! They are a
short-haired breed, but with proper grooming this generally isn't a real problem.

It's important to give them regular exercise, but pugs can quickly overheat on hot
days. They also don't tolerate cold very well, although mine love the snow.

These puppies make exceptional family pets and we take great pride in their
quality. You may learn more about pugs and other breeds at "
